This study reviews how aspects of the built environment, like room layout, lighting, sound, and colour, can significantly impact autistic individuals due to differences in sensory processing. It offers practical design recommendations, such as using simple layouts, retreat spaces, dimmable lighting, and soundproofing, to create more inclusive and adaptable spaces that support the needs of all users.
