Within England the Autism diagnosis rate of adults is rapidly rising and there an increasing number of children entering adulthood with an Autism diagnosis. Additionally mental illness is also increasing. This means that Autistic adults now represent a fast-growing population in mental health services in England. This report works to improve the provision of mental health care for Autistic adults within mental health services. It aims to support staff to better understand and feel confident meeting the needs of Autistic people accessing their services. This report is aimed to inform commissioners and staff across all health settings, including primary and acute care.
