Neurodivergence-Informed Therapy
Chapman and Botha (2022)
The neurodiversity movement views differences, like autism, ADHD, or dyspraxia, as natural variations of human diversity, not problems to fix. Instead of trying to "cure" people, it encourages society to create spaces that support all types of body-minds. This article suggests that therapists working with neurodivergent people should focus on understanding their experiences, supporting pride in their identities, and recognising that challenges often come from the environment and neuronormativity, not the individual.
